About
Hi I am Anna.
I am taking inspiration from cats around the world and I am aiming for 9 lives. I am on to number 6.
Starting out in television documentaries, I worked my way up from runner to freelance Assistant Producer, thanks to the amazing Stuart Prebble, who not only believed in me, but taught me so much. A lifelong mentor.
When observational documentaries began to giveaway to reality TV, I found myself a little disillusioned with the industry and a friend’s invitation to join her in Buenos Aires seemed too good to turn down. So off to Argentina I headed. A year in, I set up an au-pair agency and a summer camp.
I returned to Europe four years later, to oversee the opening of the nursery for Sotogrande International School. I was responsible for the design, look and feel. Bringing together, the team, overseeing the marketing and the building project.
Later that summer, in the car journey back from a family trip to France, my two cousins, brother and I started discussing the pop-ups we had been to and how they had disappointed either in the menu or the overall experience. Determined to up the pop-up game with delicious food AND a great immersive experience, we created Dine Mile High. After four sell out two week events in London, a sellout success in NYC and hailed the immersive experts, alongside Secret Cinema and Punch Drunk, by Tatler, we created Shuttlecock Inc. to spread the experiential love to clients far and wide.
A year later, came the opportunity to have a permanent home, in Marylebone, and we jumped at the chance. After an intense, but fun, restoration project we opened the doors to Carousel in 2014. A creative hub with a revolving line up of guest chef collaborations, workshops, art exhibitions, and award winning events.
I was part of the wonderful adventure for over 8 years. I led a team of producers, designers, and art directors, as well heading up our business development. As a team, we worked closely with clients to develop their voice, stand out and be heard. We created award winning, immersive activations. Working tirelessly to think through every element of the customer experience; to bring detail, an element of surprise to every part of the event. To bring people together in shared moments. To ensure each event was unique, authentic, had low environmental impact and importantly, memorable. In this role, I gained an in depth understanding of consumer and trade market needs, specifically in food and drink, travel and beauty.
I am also a mother of two fantastic boys, Hector and Gabriel, who inspire and challenge me daily (in equal measure!). A month before the birth of Gabriel I decided I needed to make some changes. To find time for my other babies, not just Carousel and Shuttlecock Inc., and time for myself and my husband. To redress the balance. So I took the leap to leave Carousel, Shuttlecock Inc. and the amazing team behind me and set up on my own as a consultant Creative Director.
And so here I am. A freelance Creative Director. Always on the hunt for fresh, exciting ideas. New ways to make pitches enticing and intriguing. Imaginative ways to turn briefs into something real, memorable and game changing. I’m often found digging around my neighbourhood in Spain for inspiration. Off in our campervan, husband and children in tow, exploring new territories. Buried in magazines and newspapers, tearing out images that excite me, creating collages. Or at my computer searching, at least 15 tabs open at a time, for visuals, words, concepts that pique my curiosity.
Thanks to my wonderful clients I get to buzz with ideas daily, see some realised and still have time to be invited into the magical imaginations of my children. I feel grateful everyday.
